ASD Market Week and the National Gift Basket Convention Co-Locate to Expand Opportunities

Los Angeles, CA — April 26, 2016 — ASD Market Week (ASD) and the National Gift Basket Convention owned by The Gift Basket Association (GBA) announced today that the two groups will be co-locating this summer in Las Vegas. The co-located event will take place July 31 – August 3, 2016. ASD Market Week and GBA have partnered up in order to meet the expanding needs of the gift and novelty industry, while at the same time providing a high level of educational tracks for retailers across the board.

During ASD Market Week, GBA buyers and retailers will have the opportunity to learn how to build successful retail and online businesses. What makes it unique is that attendees will be encouraged to shop the floor to learn in real time. “We seek to inspire, motivate and encourage our attendees to have fun and play at the same time they are advancing their education,” shared GBA founder Debbie Quintana. “Our buyers are constantly looking for new and unique products for their businesses and between our two trade shows, we’re confident they’ll find the products they need to be even more successful than they already are.”

According to Karalynn Sprouse, EVP of Merchandise, International Sourcing and Manufacturing at ASD, the partnership has two goals:

1)      Deliver more value to our exhibitors – and one way to do this is to bring more buyers who are looking for wholesale products. The National Gift Basket Show has close to 300 gift basket retailers in attendance and they all need product for their business, therefore ASD is a natural fit since we offer the widest variety of wholesale product at prices that help retailers maximize their profits.
2)    Deliver more value to our attendees with education and networking opportunities. Having the National Gift Basket educational track at ASD offers the attendees to partake in their onsite demonstrations and education.

“We are very excited about bringing the National Gift Basket Convention to ASD Market Week. It really elevates the experience for the gift buyers who attend our show and specialize in this art form,” shared Holly Harris, Show Director, Gift & Home at ASD Market Week. “It will be great exposure for the brands and educators associated with GBA to network with the thousands of retailers and vendors at the show. A true win-win for everyone.”

The Gift Basket Association
The Gift Basket Association was founded in 2009 by Debbie Quintana with the goal of uniting the gift basket design industry. In 2010, Quintana decided to take over the National Gift Basket Convention so “I could bring the activities of GBA to ‘life,’ meaning that we could physically meet and share resources, learn and advance our education.” The association provides education, certifications, workshops and networking events for members. Quintana’s vision was to bring the gift basket industry together in the spirit of support and collaboration and it wasn’t long until the industry embraced her vision. Today, GBA works with gift basket companies throughout the globe to provide a variety of resources to help their members and companies grow.
